Tiny thoughts from a dog with a blog

Apathy and remembering joy

Apathy is a nightmare. I have various brainweird issues that mean I'm my own worst enemy, and often find myself back in the dredges of anhedonia and apathetic joylessness.

For me, the only spark that fuels the flame to get me out of apathy, eventually, is to be joyful with reckless abandon, even if others find it silly.

I had this thought, when I considered what spoon-restoring activities I could do in between the spoon-draining to-do's I have set ahead of me today. There was a negative snark from somewhere within when I considered cartoons -- a major comfort tool of mine -- and I second guessed myself.

Then I remembered: I can do anything joyful with any joyful thing, regardless of how silly or seemingly insignificant the way I choose to engage with it, may be. And today, folks, I am considering how much art I could make and OCs that could be born of watching Winx club for the first time in my life.

There is no joy too small to be recognized as the joy it is.
